If products require drying to a very low final moisture content, the problem usually arises with traditional drying systems that the air has a lower saturation point towards the end of the drying phase. At the same time, there is still a large amount of heat that could be used in the exhaust air, which is released into the surrounding area.
For cases such as these, STELA has developed its own air circulation system. The principle is that the air that is not completely saturated from the final drying areas is reused at an earlier stage in the drying process and thus the latent heat is exploited further. In large double systems, this solution is implemented using the patented STELA air circulation system. Here the exhaust air from the lower dryer is completely reused as an air supply for the upper part of the system. This ensures that 100% of the residual heat from the drying process is exploited.
The system is used in the chipboard industry in particular. Thanks to the two-stage drying process, the product (wood shavings, OSB strands) is perfectly mixed. A constant residual moisture of 1% is guaranteed.
