Drying systems for RDF / SRF / MSW

Do you want to get the most out of your refuse-derived fuels by drying them? Then a flexible or individually adapted drying plant is recommended to achieve high added value and the best calorific values.

Fossil fuels are becoming an increasingly scarce and critically viewed commodity. Accordingly, there is a high demand for alternatives that are produced anyway and that can contribute to climate protection instead of ending up in landfills. With efficient drying and appropriate further processing, these can be just as productive and uncomplicated to use as conventional energy sources.

Dryer requirements for RDF / SRF / MSW

Behind the abbreviations RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel), SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) and MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) are valuable substitute fuels that have been considered a problem for decades. Whether energy-rich waste from households or from industry, the right drying technology transforms it into renewable resources for the sustainable energy industry.

It is already clear from the names that corresponding drying plants have to deal with a very inhomogeneous and sometimes difficult-to-handle raw material. The raw material differs greatly from batch to batch, is neither regionally nor seasonally similar and can change further at any time.

Drying removes liquid from the raw material, makes it lighter and increases its calorific value. The removal of moisture also improves storability, but the loss of weight also reduces transport costs.

In order to achieve these desired improvements, RDF / SRF / MSW drying technology is faced with the challenge of reacting individually to the moisture content, which can vary greatly.

STELA drying plants are not only robust, but also designed to be flexible and quickly adaptable to the respective requirements.
