From May 26 to 30, 2025, LIGNA in Hanover once again presented itself as the central platform for the international wood industry. Around 78,000 visitors from 156 countries took the opportunity to find out about the latest developments and technologies. The positive atmosphere and strong interest confirm the importance of the trade fair as a global meeting place for the industry.
“LIGNA has impressively demonstrated why it is the leading trade fair in the industry,” said the organizers. After challenging years, the industry is back in full force.
Sustainable biomass drying as a key technology
The focus of the stela Laxhuber stand was on the sustainable and energy-efficient drying of wood-based biomass - particularly in the bioenergy sector. For processes such as pyrolysis, hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) or wood gasification, a precise degree of drying of the biomass, such as bark, wood chips or sawdust, is essential.
Low-temperature belt dryers from stela are specially designed to meet these requirements. They use process heat effectively, operate with low emissions and can be flexibly adapted to different raw materials and process conditions.
The latest e.Dry belt dryer technology was also presented as an innovation at LIGNA: The first belt dryer that is heated using a heat pump.
