Belt dryer BT for SSW
in Poland
Dryer type: BT 1-6200-12
Rendimiento de la secadora:
SSW: 10.0 t/h from 35% to 10%

Sector: Industria
cementera.
To compensate for the lack of space, the exhaust fans were placed behind the dryer and connected to shafts running underneath the belt dryer. This customised solution allowed the dryer to be integrated despite the difficult space conditions.
In addition, the dryer was built on a raised strip foundation 2 metres high to ensure the necessary infrastructure. The belt dryer utilises the waste heat from the clinker cooling system. One third of the hot air was previously released unused into the environment. The dried substitute fuel RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel), which consists largely of shredded plastics, serves the cement plant as an environmentally friendly alternative to coal in the rotary kiln.

The belt dryer was manufactured at the STELA Laxhuber factory. The individual components of the dryer were manufactured there to the highest quality standards.
Assembly at the Allmendingen site was carried out in close co-operation with SCHWENK. The specific requirements and local conditions were also taken into account during assembly. This included adapting the installation to the available space and integrating it into the existing energy supply system. Thanks to the precise planning and implementation, in which all installation steps were defined in detail in advance, the dryer was installed and commissioned on schedule.

As one of the most renowned German cement manufacturers, SCHWENK Zement places extremely high demands on the reliable and consistent quality of its end products. This is guaranteed by the precise control of the belt dryer's drying parameters. With the successful implementation of the belt dryer at the Allmendingen site, every SCHWENK site now has a stela belt drying system. These include Bernburg, Karlstadt, Heidenheim-Mergelstetten and Broceni/Latvia.
The latest project is part of a comprehensive energy optimisation concept that SCHWENK is implementing at the Allmendingen site. In addition to the RDF dryer, the overall concept also includes an ORC system to generate its own electricity and a downstream hot water treatment system using waste heat. According to SCHWENK Zement, these measures will save over 8.5 million kWh of energy per year and avoid more than 13,200 tonnes of CO₂ emissions, making an important contribution to environmental protection.
The investment illustrates how important sustainable climate protection and resource conservation are to SCHWENK.
